World Wide Wales: Wales Meets Brazil
For the fourth edition of the World Wide Wales series, Artist in Residence Huw Warren invites São Paulo born percussionist and composer Adriano Adewale for an evening of infectious groove-filled World Jazz. The trio for this exclusive premiere is completed by bassist and long term collaborator, Dudley Phillips.
Adriano came to the attention of UK audiences through his work with guitarist Antonio Forcione and has also worked with Seu Jorge, Seb Rochford, Monica Vasconcelos, Andy Sheppard, Tuti Moreno, Rodolfo Stroeter, Modeste Hughes and many other artists, as well as being part of Christine Tobin’s “A Thousand Kisses Deep” at Brecon Jazz in 2014. Huw Warren has a lifelong love of Brazilian music as evidenced by his ‘Hermeto+’ album of 2009, and ongoing projects with Maria Pia de Vito and Trio Brasil.
